What is Training Wheels®?

Training Wheels® is a nationally recognized program that brings the animal shelter into the community. We service approximately 500 animals per month, assisting over 175 families in the township of Wyandanch, NY alone.

In economically challenged areas, pet owners often struggle to provide the basic needs for their animals. Our Training Wheels® program works tirelessly to provide support, resources, and FREE spay/neuter services with transportation to help pet owners in need. Our volunteers offer pet care education, supplies, and medical care, ensuring that pets stay healthy and loved.

Sadly, many families face the heartbreaking decision to surrender their pets to overcrowded municipal shelters when they can no longer provide for them. That's where our program steps in - to prevent the separation of families and their pets. Though if it comes to it, we do take in animals in need of being re-homed.

With the help of our donors and supporters, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Together, we can build a more humane community, one family at a time. 🙏🏼🐾
