Two men last seen on Native American reservation on LI disappear within 48 hours of each other
Authorities in Suffolk County are seeking two individuals who went missing at the beginning of last month and were last spotted on a Native American reserve in Mastic.
The police have stated that they do not believe there to be a connection between the disappearances of Isaiah Henriquez, a 20-year-old resident of West Babylon, and Luis Alvarenga, aged 27 and from Kings Park. However, the possibility that their presence on the Poospatuck Reservation may have been a factor in their disappearance is currently being investigated.
According to Eyewitness News, the police verified that the reservation was one of the last known locations of Henriquez on April 8th and Alvarenga on April 10th.
Henriquez's mother informed investigation journalist Kristin Thorne of Eyewitness News that she firmly believed that her son would never cause her harm in the manner described. She explained that they maintain daily communication, without exception.
Henriquez's mother chose not to reveal her identity due to concerns about her safety. She recounted how, on April 8, she bid farewell to her son, who informed her that he was headed to a party hosted at an Airbnb in Brentwood.
As per the authorities, Henriquez departed from the party at approximately 7:30 p.m.
As stated by Henriquez's relatives, Henriquez utilized a Lyft service to travel to the Poospatuck Reservation.
Henriquez's mother attempted to text him that night but noticed her messages were not being delivered. Furthermore, calls to his phone were being directed straight to voicemail. It became evident the next day, Easter Sunday, when Henriquez didn't attend a family gathering, that something was amiss.
As she shed tears, she stated that he always kept up with all the holidays.
When Eyewitness News came to the reservation and asked the locals if they have any memory of Henriquez or Alvarenga, nobody was willing to speak on camera, but they informed us that they lacked information regarding their location.
The chief of the reservation was also contacted by Eyewitness News; however, no response was received.
According to Henriquez's aunt, Ana Rodriguez, his family is clueless about the reason for his visit to the reservation on that particular night. She mentioned that Isiah had a habit of keeping in touch with somebody every three weeks, and his sudden disappearance is unusual. His family believes that there might be something wrong.
"Our sole objective is to locate him," stated Maribel Ramirez, Henriquez's aunt, emphasizing that no inquiries will be made.
According to information, Henriquez stands at six feet tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and sports an Arabic inscription tattoo on the right side of his face. Another marking on his left forearm reads "Diana." During his last sighting, he wore black sweatpants and a black Nike jacket while flashing silver grills.
