Landlord-Tenant Dispute Escalates to Arson, Police Report
A Freeport woman faces charges after allegedly setting a bedroom ablaze during a landlord-tenant dispute, Nassau County Police reported on Sunday, July 27.
Arson Bomb Squad Detectives allege that 54-year-old Bridget Hay started a fire in a victim’s bedroom at a Freeport home on Agnes Avenue around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 26.
A 32-year-old man reportedly put out the flames and contacted the police. Another man, 47, was also in the home at the time. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Hay was arrested at the scene without incident and charged with Arson in the Second Degree.
She was scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead.
