Tragic Accident: Pedestrian Attacked by Hit-and-Run SUV, Followed by Impact with Additional Automobile in Port Jefferson Station.

Long Island police are currently trying to locate a suspect involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident that occurred overnight.

The incident occurred in Port Jefferson Station on Friday, June 2 at approximately 10:15 p.m.

According to Suffolk County Police, a man who was walking across the eastbound lane of Route 112, south of Rose Avenue, was hit by a SUV traveling southbound on the same road. The SUV then left the scene of the accident, and its driver is currently unknown.

Police reported that the man was hit by another vehicle traveling south and that vehicle did not flee the scene.

The police have yet to identify the victim, but a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed their death at the scene.
