Nikolas Pleiadi New Book Release
I was an addict. Now I’m a father of four, a husband, and the author of In Powder Blue—a novel rooted in everything I survived. It’s about grief, crime, and redemption in post-9/11 Long Island. This isn’t just fiction—it’s memory, pain, and a promise to leave something better behind.
I wrote this book for the friends I lost—to addiction, to silence, to the streets. In Powder Blue is a story about legacy, grief, and escape, set in Levittown, Long Island. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt stuck between survival and self-destruction. This book is my truth—and I hope it hits yours.
The book doesn’t officially launch until July 1, but it’s already gaining traction: it recently charted in the Top 25 for “Literary Sagas – New Releases” and Top 50 in “Contemporary American Fiction – New Releases” on Amazon. It’s also rated 5 stars on Goodreads by early ARC readers who’ve called it emotionally devastating, poetic, and unforgettable.
In Powder Blue follows a boy from Levittown who loses his mother in the South Tower on 9/11 and is slowly pulled into addiction, grief, and crime — all while navigating the silence and legacy left behind by a broken family. It’s fiction, but much of it is drawn from real experience: I was born and raised in Levittown. I lost friends. I struggled. I got clean. And now, I’ve written a story that tries to make sense of it all.
This book is for the kids who never got to grow up. For the families who were changed by 9/11. For the ones who lived through the opioid crisis and didn’t always have the words for it.
It would mean the world to me — and I believe, to many readers in this community — to have it featured. If you’d like a review copy, more information, or an interview, I’d be honored to share more.
Thank you for your time and for everything you do to give Long island voices a platform.
With gratitude,
Nikolas Pleiadi
