Gentle Jack Needs a Foster or Forever Home After Years of Living Outdoors
LONG ISLAND, NY — After spending years living outdoors with minimal care, a gentle Long Island cat named Jack is getting a second chance — and now he needs someone willing to open their heart and home to him.
Jack’s journey has not been an easy one. After years of surviving outside, he was found injured and in need of help. Today, his physical injuries are nearly fully healed, but rescuers are hoping the next chapter of his recovery will give him something just as important: the security, affection and companionship of a loving home.
Jack is currently in the adoption program of Tender Loving Cats, Inc., a Long Island-based cat rescue organization.
Those caring for Jack describe him as a sweet and loving cat who deserves the opportunity to experience the comforts many pets take for granted — a warm place to sleep, regular meals, gentle affection and a person or family to call his own.
For an animal that has spent years outdoors, transitioning into a home can be life-changing. Jack no longer needs to face life outside alone. What he needs now is a foster family willing to help him continue his journey or, even better, an adopter ready to make him a permanent member of the family.
Adult cats can sometimes be overlooked as families search for kittens, but cats like Jack can make wonderful companions. Behind Jack’s difficult past is a cat with love to give and a future still waiting to be written.
Jack survived the outdoors. He survived being injured. Now he deserves more than simply surviving — he deserves a home.
