Long Island Daily News is launching a dedicated Pet Rescue & Adoption section! ❤️🐶🐱

Every day, animals across Nassau and Suffolk counties are waiting.

Waiting for an adopter.
Waiting for a foster.
Waiting for a rescue to have space.
Waiting to be reunited with their families.
And sometimes, simply waiting for someone to notice them.

We want to help change that.

Our new Long Island Pet Rescue & Adoption section will provide a community platform to spotlight animals available for adoption, urgent foster and rescue needs, lost and found pets, community cats and TNR efforts, senior and special-needs animals, animals requiring medical assistance, adoption events, local animal-welfare stories — and, of course, the happy endings we all want to see: ADOPTED, RESCUED, REUNITED & SAFE! ❤️

If your organization has an animal who needs more visibility, we want to hear from you.

Small foster-based rescue? Send us your adoptables.

Municipal shelter? Send us animals waiting for homes.

Have a senior, special-needs animal or long-term resident who keeps getting overlooked? We want to tell their story.
