Parents Arrested following Fight at Flag Football Game at Wyandanch High School
Two parents were arrested Thursday night, following a fight at a flag football game at Wyandanch High School.
A fight broke out between players from Southampton High School, and Wyandanch Memorial High School following a varsity-level game, and two parents became involved in the fight.
Shalaya Gatlin, punched a 16-year-old female in the chest, d another 16-year-old female in the face, and threatened a 15-year-old. Gatlin, 37, of Shirley, was charged with Three counts of Harassment, 2nd Degree, and three counts of acting in a manner to Injure a Child.
Jonathan Perez, engaged in a physical altercation with a 16-year-old male, threatened people with a knife, and threatened to shoot up the school. Perez, 35, of Shirley, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, making a threat of mass harm, menacing 3rd degree, harassment 3rd degree, and acting in a manner to injure a child.
The two will be arraigned at a later date at First District Court in Central Islip.
The three 16-year-old victims were treated for minor injuries.
