17-year-old Arrested in Connection with Stealing Vehicle with Child Inside

Suffolk Police arrested a 17-year-old from Brentwood Thursday night, after he allegedly stole a vehicle with a child inside it from a house in Brentwood. 

Police received a 911 that a 2014 Honda Civic that was running with a child inside it was stolen out of a driveway on Whipple Street in Brentwood around 11:30. 

Following an extensive search, the vehicle and child were located on Bretton Road in Hauppauge at approximately 5am. The child was taken to the hospital for evaluation. 

Third Squad Detectives charged a 17-year-old Central Islip male with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree in connection with the incident. `

The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352, or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1800-220-TIPS.
