30-Year-Old Long Island Man Shot, Killed After Confrontation

A fatal shooting occurred on Long Island overnight and the perpetrator is currently evading capture.

According to Suffolk County Police, a conflict took place at 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 20th, in the parking lot of 373 Neighborhood Road in Mastic Beach, resulting in the victim being shot.

At the scene, Alex Smith, who was 30 years old and from Mastic, was declared deceased.
